It's the curse of Doug Hall. It now takes up permanent residence inside the locker rooms at the Meadowlands.

Did anybody see this news? I hope he turns out to be better than Wade or Gage.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Eddie Berlin was in Iowa heading over to his parents' house for Thanksgiving dinner Thursday when the Bears called and summoned him to Chicago.
The veteran receiver and special teams standout, who was waived by the Bears with an injury settlement after hurting his groin in the preseason opener against Miami, officially rejoined the team Friday when he signed a two-year contract.

Veteran receiver Eddie Berlin returned to the Bears Friday and might play Sunday in Tampa.
"They kind of told me when they had to give me an injury settlement and waive me that there was a good chance this could happen," Berlin said. "But you hear that stuff and you don't know what to believe. I was a little surprised it came true this late in the season. I'm real happy to be involved with this team right now."

Berlin had all but made the Bears' final roster after an impressive training camp, but he was injured while making a 34-yard reception late in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. Due to the injury settlement, he was not eligible to rejoin the team until this week.

The Bears opted to re-sign Berlin after rookie receiver Airese Currie, who had been moved from the non-football injury list to the 53-man roster on Wednesday, injured his hamstring in Thursday's practice.
The Bears had a roster spot open after waiving receiver Carl Ford and quarterback Kurt Kittner on Wednesday.

"Currie getting hurt really is the reason why we did it," said coach Lovie Smith. "We think (Berlin) should be able to (step right in) with the offense and also of course he's a good special teams player, so it was a natural fit for us really."

Berlin won't make that big of an impact. Gage is looking good now too.

I was at the game and 3 times I thought we(the Seahawks) had lost - it was loud and as I sit in the North End zone where Feeley was kicking I'd love to tell you guys that I personally blew 2 of the kicks short and one of them left, but alas even with as big of a mouth as I have that is impossible.....crazy turn of events though....

The worst part of it all is that I really felt that as good as the Giants Defense was playing that the Seahawks weren't playing to their own strengths on their last drive in regulation and their first two in OT.

Finally, this .gif of Jeremy Shockey pretty much says it all for me - Who is laughing now Jeremy????

Just heard that, too. So long, Mooch.

On Feely: I'm so glad that the Falcs got rid of that guy. There were several instances when he would miss seemingly easy FG's in big games. Todd Peterson hasnt missed a FG or a PAT all year.....He has no long range but I'll take consistency from 35-45 yards over one 60 yarder in a blue moon.

Prediction: The Packers will hire him and it will bring Favre back for one more season.

I'm really not sure how the head coach of a team ridiculously oversuited at WR with a pedestrian Oline and Dline is totally accountable for that mess. Should they be better? Maybe by a game or two. I really didn't understand how anyone picked the Lions to be any good this year (as I've been saying since the beginning of the year).

Now that the Bears have won against Carolina and Tampa head to head (you're welcome Falcons fans), it's a pretty clear path to a bye. 11-12 wins is easily in sight, and with the East and South beating each other up for the remainder of the schedule, I don't see how any of those teams surpasses us in terms of record, and since we own the tiebreaker, really 11 should be enough.

Yeah, the Bears defense (which is essentially their offense too) is freaky good.

I was reading Len Pasquarelli's article (ESPN's equivalent of Don VitoImage). He had some nasty stats:

"Chicago now has 17 offensive touchdowns in 11 games and, remarkably, the average length of those scoring drives is a mere 50.4 yards. Five of the touchdown drives have been for 25 yards or less and four are for 10 yards or fewer, three of 3 yards or less."

That's SEVEN offensive touchdowns in which the drive started within the 10 yard line.
Edit:(actually I think that can't be right. I think he's including the ones within the 3 yard line as part of the 10 yard line one too, but still...)

"nine of Chicago's offensive touchdowns have come after the defense authored a takeaway or turned the ball over on downs. "

Which is over half. I think the Defense has two or three touchdowns themselves too.

Half of my logic. The new guy they threw in looked pretty good.
