Do you ever say something in a conversation and think "Hey, I bet no one has ever said that before in all of human history"?

Today I came up with 'Albert's Toblerone delirium has gone completely stellar' while discussing my philosophy lecturers obsession with the aforementioned triangular shaped chocolate.

I've checked Google and nothing came up. Man, I'm special. I'm taking language places its never been before.

The only thing to do with clever sentences that make little sense is to make a grindcore song out of it.

Quote:
Simplicity. Aggression. Chaos.

These three things are common to almost every grindcore band, preferring simple structures and heavy riffing over complicated scales and muscianmanship. Grindcore is the opposite of pretension, it is dirty, down-to-earth and above all things, a way to hit out at the wrongs in the world. Youll find that most Grindcore lyrics are hitting out against particular injustices or commplace practices, be it politics, religion, animal cruelty (many grinders are vegan, even with the gory artwork!).

An evolution of hardcore and metal, grindcore takes the crushing riffage and brutality of the latter, combined with the lightning fast speed and energy of the former to create a formidable hybrid genre that countless people have undertaken in bands all over the world, many doing split-tapes with fellow grinders from all four corners of the earth.

Ultra-distorted guitars, off-beat maniacal drumming, screams and growls are common trademarks of Grindcore, many bands using the simplicity and speed that comes with the genre to vent their frustrations with the state of society and life so that other people can enjoy what comes out of it. However there are band who choose more complicated structures and solos.

What most attracts me to grindcore is the sheer amount of it thats out there right now. Many of the more experienced bands have their names stamped on close to a hundred recordings and most of them arent stopping. Short songs, heavy riffs to headbang to, and a variety in style that just cant be found in more 'mainstream' bands.

The releases featured on this site are all of a certain quality, i have chosen not to give reviews because i think reviews generally can be misleading if they are both good or bad. If i didnt think the releases were good, i wouldnt own them and certainly wouldnt feature them on a website. Tracklists and artwork have been included with other various items of information as well as a breif description of each band, but no reviews for the releases. Make your own opinions about them, dont let anybody elses influence your judgement or form preconceptions.

So without further ado, i present the practitioners of this diverse genre, although this is just a fraction of the total i hope it gives you some idea of whats out there if youre willing to look. This page will be updated as frequently as i get the information and new grind!

If you have any information on the bands i feature here that i havent included please send it to me and i WILL give you credit in that section. This is more geared towards more obscure bands that i havent got much info on. Any bands you think i should check out or feature are also welcomed.

Also, im interested in grindcore distros in the UK, many of them are incredibly small and situated outside the UK so they dont ship here, this makes it incredibly difficult for me to get any grindcore over here. IF you can help me out in any way please let me know. My email adress is linked at the bottom of every page on this entire website. Thanks.

Please note that the featured discographies on this site are only what I OWN PERSONALLY. They are in most cases incomplete. Refer to the bands' official websites for full discography information. Cheers :)

I mean, you can't write about grindcore, then close with a SMILING emoticon. What gives?

I invent WORDS.

De-smallify being the most recent example.
Meaning: Make something bigger that we made small earlier.

I like inventing words.

Darrin, you know about googlewhacking, right? That's where you google for two words (no quotes) and get only one search result on google. I'll bet you could spend hours at it.

Honestly, friend, that was an eight-points font. Not incomprehensibly small at all.

Sure, all the time.

That's not one of them, of course.

Neither are these.
