What with my life falling apart, I have neglected to promote one of my friends' bands, The Earlies. The only people on the board that I can remember really pulling for them in 2004 other than me were dalen and BeeOk. They are a Manchester band, but two of the founding four are from Texas. I went to school with the lead singer, Brandon. The drummer from Brandon's former band, The Danes, was in my wedding, and I was a "bridesman" in theirs. I really want for Brandon and all the reast of the band to have a good time, so please consider going to one of their remaining shows.

The brits are all first-class lushes to the nth degree and can drink probably any of you under the table. They like making friends (except for Christian, who mainly likes making fucks, but he's still a pretty good guy). Nicky used to be a bobbie, Gaz is a soccer hooligan, and Alex, the bassist, is just a nice, quiet guy.

can I say anything better about them? Their album, These Were . . . The Earlies, was one of my top ten of 2004.

Looks like they still haven't reached most of the major Obnetropoli - please go!

Um . . . major touchpoints might include Mercury Rev, Tripping Daisy, Spiritualized, Flaming Lips . . . but they don't sound like any of that, exactly.

Instrumentation on this tour (but I'm not going to remember all their names):
Keys / Synth / loops / triggers
Keys / Synth / Backup Vocals
cello
lead vocals / guitar
backup vocals / saxophone / flute / percussion / "other"
percussion / trombone / "other"
bass guitar
drums

maybe i'll post a ysi later on of one of their songs.

Your friend Brandon is gonna get freaked out when we all come up to him in our respective cities and say, "Hey, Colin Peden told me to come see you!"

You know what, I remember that. I think it's the first song, right? It starts off as an instrumental with some nice melodic vocals towards the end. Is that the one?

Yep. I think you would like it. discostu turned me on to them and the whole album is pretty similar to that song.

bump cause i feel like it . . . tanny, i see you're lurking - i want you to go to the show, flirt with brits, and then come home to get to bed for your tests in the morning . . . and you're allowed to bring a brit with you if needs be, but i doubt it will help your sleep any . . .

philliam's going to be working his way through a couple of home brews with me tonight, and we probably won't be in any condition to go anywhere for vary long. the earlies will be back again for sxsw . . . IF THIS TOUR GOES WELL ENOUGH.

'nuff said.
