Okay. I'm going to suck it up and go alone sometime soon. I'm not sure about the Thursday show, as my Thursday is apparently busy all of a sudden and the show is nearly an hour away... but stayed tuned for details about whatever show I do go alone to.

Good for you. I used to avoid going to shows by myself, until my buddy bailed on the Blake Babies reunion show a few years ago. I was pissed at him for being such a pussy (he yielded to his wife when she knew the show was important to him). There was no way I was missing out, so I said screw it. So I saw a great show, plus the Starlight Mints blew me away as an opener; I had never heard them.

My wife doesn't have any interest in shows & with kids it's tough to go anyway, so I wait until I'm on the road for work. Then I'll hit a show by myself. I'll have a few drinks first & will usually end up talking with some random person for awhile. This way, I didn't have to miss out on Spoon, the Decemberists, J. Mascis & Neko Case, to name a few.
