So just now my ex tells me he found an email this morning from Charlie's teacher dated yesterday telling him that Charlie was punched in the private area yesterday and the little boy that did it was suspended.

Now charlie never told my ex at ALL yesterday and I just found the same email in my box having missed it myself. I'm pissed. That poor little kid. All I know is I'm pampering him all weekend. All my ex said was that now that explains why he did seem really sad this morning. ugh.

And what makes this even weirder is that around the same time that email was sent yesterday my coworker received a phone call that her eldest daughter who is ten was punched in the eye by a little boy that apparently was holding a rock in his hand at the time. Of course the little boy was actually arrested because he's a juv delinquent to begin with and that just makes it much worse. And apparently the mother can't deal with him anymore and has given up and wants him sent to a juvvy home. jesus.

WTF is wrong with kids these days?? Seriously. It just truly pisses me off.

And makes me really really sad.

There's nothing wrong with the kids. It's the parents who are fuck ups.

Spoken like an embittered teacher.

Chris is right, though.

I don't know that it has to do with kids these days, Charli. At least where I grew up there were signs that something was wrong 30 years ago.

Granted, I grew up in the Bronx, but, can vividly remember kids walking around with knives, a gun being planted in my locker(in 5th grade!!), kids with learning disabilities being tortured visciously.....loads of more shit.

We're at about the 4th level of hell and on a quick decent.

OPA is right about the shit parenting, though.

I know someone who, when drunk, will attempt to pick people up by their crotches, or else hit people there repeatedly.

He's 24.

It's not all about the kids these days...

Bite your tongue.

But seriously, I never realized how much my parents actually influenced my life. I realize I've made my own decisions but on matters I couldn't control, my parents were at the helm and I must say, they could've done a much better job.

But were we on a lower or higher level 30 yrs. ago? Shit has always been fucked up, since the "fall of man" if you believe that quaint little fable.

Every generation thinks (subconsciously hopes?) that the one following them is not only the worst yet, but quitge possible the last. I really think the problem is subjective morality, but that's always been there too, but I personally blame the Democrats and the radical homosexual agenda that is destroying the minds and morality of our nation's youth. It's pretty obvious really.

I am sorry for your kid, though Charli, that smarts.

When I was a kid I used to get the shit kicked out me all the time. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing...well, I suppose at the time it's a bad thing as your getting your face pummelled in but it teaches you the lesson from virtually the get-go that most people are violent, moronic scum.

They learn that along the way.

Nice. Yeah After I wrote that I realized one of you wiseasses would say something like that.

Yeah guys, I realize that it's the parents pretty much. I really want to know what kid did this to him and why.

I know that my son is doing much better, more adjusted frankly since I've stopped running around so much. Ever since I settled down with Josh and started staying in more I've been more happy and so has my kid.

I see some of these parents acting like they don't care what their kids do. It's awful.

I think it would depend on whether or not you were a normal kid. By that I mean a kid who can adjust to teasing and bullying and plan ways to avoid it and who grows up to despise bullies but basically becomes a regular guy.

My son has a disorder that keeps him from being able to keep his emotions under wraps, makes him unable to develop a thick skin and very prone to getting the shit beaten out of him. But he's also about the kindest and sweetest kid there is, and I wouldn't have him switch from his Belle & Sebastian state to a thuggstah one for anything. I like him the way he is. He's unique and loveable. I'd hate to see him become a suspicous and bittered adult. He's like a blonde and cute Spongebob. Spongebob would be a very dangerous sea creature if he were embittered and hated the world.

Get that kid out hunting, stat! I wouldn't mess with a seven year old who could skin a deer. Next show and tell, have him bring a picture where he's holding a rifle twice his size with a mutilatied fawn under his foot. Work on his war stories, have him share with the class how it was either him or the bear... and the bear isn't sharing with the class.

By then even sixth graders will be giving up their lunch money.

That's about half of the kids in my town. Not so high-stare-ical when it's true.
