I had no idea they had an album come out this year. I completely missed it. I thought "chat and business" was reasonably good, and i was wondering if any of you have heard this new album?

As CMJ and now Obner's premier Ikara Colt fan I would recommend 'Modern Apprentice'. Provided of course you like Ikara Colt!

The general consensus seems to be that it is a better overall album than 'Chat and Business'. As always with Ikara Colt it's a mixed bag, but there are some really good tracks on there. Jackpot, I'm With Stupid, Rewind, Automatic and Repro/Roadshow/Nightmare all get me jumping about.

Currently ranked 10th from 47 on my 2004 list.

Atually, you had ikara colt in an NP awhile back that reminded me of them. I remember 'Chat and Business' but i had absolutely no idea they had a new album out. Ive not seen any reviews of it at all, i only noticed today when i was on their site.

I better listen to this quickly to see if it'll make my end of year list.

holy shit! thank you!

it's funny, i was just listening to them on saturday and thinking that i would likely need to keep up with the members of the band and see what they do when i eventually find out that they'd never put out a new album. chat and business was one of my favorite pickups in years. looks like i'm headed to newbury comics today. woo-hoo!

c.
