What are some of the best music magazines out there?

I've read mostly just Spin for the past year or two. I'm usually embarassed to buy it because it has some terrible, terrible band on the cover like Fall Out Boy or the Vines but inside they usually make up for it. The last issue had features on Depeche Mode and Giant Drag, for example.

But I was at the bookstore on my lunch the other day looking for something and decided to randomly pick up a copy of Filter. It had Wayne Coyne on the cover and mentions of the Strokes and Steve Buscemi inside. I've been quite happy with the content so far.

There's also a free newspaper-quality magazine available in Canada called Exclaim which is awesome. But it's free so I pick that up whenever I can, regardless.

I like the reviews in Outburn; used to have good articles, but haven't seen one in a few months. Also, just picked up a copy of Virus -- looked interesting (Lacuna Coil on the cover). I also like Grooves, i/e, and the aforementioned Wire.

The Big Takeover is my favorite mag. Good intelligent interviews...tons of reviews. Jack Rabid is great.

My favorite is Plan b magazine. If you can get hold of it, its well worth checking out. Everett True's magazine.
