I've probably sold back a total of 10-15 CDs in the last 15 years, this was one of them. I went to see them live just to see if the suck was worse live than on record, it was. The singer is OBVIOUSLY singing like that on purpose. It's fucking stupid. Unicorns stupid. The only song worth listening to on the record is "In this Home on Ice."

you get over the vocals on like the third liste, then forget why they annoyed you at first until you see them without the benefit of a producer toning that shit way down. It happens with a surprisingly large amount of bands with me.

and I like sweaters, damnit.

I just wanna reiterate that I've never heard anything of them before this, so maybe the album can slip into your heart.

But this performance was really, really bad. Not "Dylan sings off-key" bad, but "why is this guy trying to make me angry" bad. Joke bad. Novelty bad. Rage Against The Machine On Stage With Their Mouths Duct-taped Shut And Not Playing A Fucking Song For Your Money bad.

Listening now. Thoughts:

His voice is doubled, maybe tripled, on the first track. The effect is one of canceling out a lot of the warbles, turning them into "chorus." Interesting.

This is just "modern sloppy" singing, and not even the worst of that.

(2nd track) I concur 100% with the Talking Heads analogy. This smacks of David Byrne-esq not givin a fuck. But he did it a LOT better. He was casual. This is careless. Goofy, for the sake of goofy. Ok, this is getting unbearable around 4:15.

Does anyone else notice that the background (behind the noticeable vocals) is pretty much 2 chords back-n-forth, 2/4 time, straight-ahead? I'm just sayin'... something should redeem this.

(3rd song) Ok, the david byrne jones is out of hand. This is not good, Haq. Man I'm sorry. I can see that this is Definately better than the live performance I saw, but it's still "Z-Grade," to quote loog. Mumbly, warbly, and that's ok, but you better be writing something good to make up for it, and he isn't. 3 chords (tops) and scoopy, mumbly vocals is just settling for flank steak when Filet Fucking Mignon costs the same amount. I can honestly say that if someone had told me this was a local highschool band, I'd have 1.) believed them, and 2.) not thought twice about it.

I seriously appreciate the time it took to post the songs, though. I listened to #2 twice, and #3 3 times.

Yeah, but it's still more than most people would do.

<---has zero interest in tracking down more songs by them, unfortunately.
