Yeah, this is just pure, raw chart data. (Our critic's list goes live on Friday).

I always find the CMJ chart fascinating because it seems to be a good indication of what indie types are ACTUALLY listening to. ILX-types (myself very much included) can blog about SunnO))) and Luomo and Bun B and Keith Fullerton Whitman all day long, but most people in our "circle" are probably listening to Dressy Bessy.

Very interesting this shit needs to go up on Obner Whiney!

ILX is I Love Everything
ILM is I Love Music, you know the one I talk about way too much.

It's so big that they need two different boards...

These charts are interesting.

Is this the system that counts "spins" from stations that have signed up for the extra tracking hardware (a.k.a. not all of the college stations). If so, is this averaged out as spins per week that the album's out? If not, something like the Spoon album, having been out since Feb., would have a distinct advantage in accumilating spins over something released later in the year, like that Wolf Parade album...

Just askin'...

i was just wondering about that. It is a Penn station, but then if it was counted that goddamned tegan and sara album they love so much would be on there.

but it's a Penn station in name only. they don't let college kids anywhere NEAR a mic or CD changer. It's a station for 40-50 year old liberal soccer mom's (and dad's)
