8%??? I got a .06% (yes, less than 1%) raise last year after a glowing annual review.

You sure about this? .06% would be insulting as a Christmas Bonus, let alone a raise.

Some examples:

$50,000 annual salary, 0.06% = $30
$200,000 annual salary = $120

probably meant .6%

most companies have been spending 3-4% on salary increase budgets over the past few years. hard to even keep up with inflation...oh well.

Oops - yes, that should have been a .6 instead of .06. It doesn't look like I'll be getting a raise this year, even though that was my whole reason for moving to a new department.
