How anyone can talk about Leinart without the obvious comparisons to Joe Montana is beyond me. Put him with the right team (a la Brady, Montana, even Jake Delhomme) and he is a star, multi-MVP type. Put him in New Orleans, and he's Joey Harrington. The guy has talent, obviously, and I think he is head and shoulders above Harrington. However, he screwed himself by not coming out last year, when he would have been #1 and gone to his hometown Niners. Now, Miami is the best he can hope for.

Although, as a Cowboy fan, I would love to see us make a move up to get him (1st this year and next, plus Greg Ellis, for instance).

Vince Young has a year to turn himself into either Donovan McNabb or Aaron Brooks. Whichever route he goes will determine his draft position. If he were to come out this year, its likely hed be a top-10 pick. He may not be able to improve on that with another year, honestly, and he may get seriously hurt.

Leinart went to Mater Dei High School in Orange County. Arch- Socal rival of Norcal powerhouses like De La Salle HS. Saying someone from Orange County has a hometown in SF is like saying someone in Cleveland has a hometown in Boston.

Now... going to the Saints (or any team) who move to LA to play in the Coliseum is something that makes sense...

I think that Leinart was confused with Tom Brady, who went to school by the Bay (same one as Barry Bonds, no?), and Alex Smith (qb) who is also a Bay native.

If I still wanted the Saints to succeed, that would be my choice too. I think that kid has "it."
