Thoughts? They are playing a tune on kexp right now that is pretty damn ok.

Whats the 411?

I'm so back and forth on GBV its scary. I think the comp is great because it cuts the crap for the most part.

I am completely unimpressed with the little GBV I've heard. And I kind of wish this dude would quit releasing stuff every 3rd week or so it seems.

I've heard it's really good from longtime Postal Blowfish, but longtime Postal Blowfish like everything this guy shits out.

Human Amusements is the only essential GBV disc in my opinion.

I love Pollard and GBV because he just puts it all out there and lets listeners pick out the gems. I'd rather have a glut of material than a dearth anyday, even if it means some of it isn't top-notch - it likely is to someone, and your choice for top-notch likely also isn't for someone else.

I understand that sentiment, and if I was a fan at all I might tend to agree.

Have you heard Human Amusements at Hourly Rates? Me and Yail enjoy it, so you might give it a shot.

Basically my listening experience boils down to listening to Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes samples at Barnes & Noble a couple of times on their head phones. I admit that's not much but it failed to register at all.

Word. You'd probly dig that one T, but I think most of their output is a bunch of wasted tape. Perfect compilation band.

well those are 2 of the top 3 gbv albums so it's pretty safe to say that there's no hope you'll like them.

If all these overly hyped indie bands could write melodies HALF-AS GOOD as the 'King of Shit' we'd really be somewhere.

Based on how lo-fi these recordings are, though, you may want to find a way to get ahold of at least Bee Thousand and give it a good, full listen. Some of the hooks just get stuck in your head. If you don't like "Echoes Myron," then I just hate you

You're right. Barnes and Nobles samples has steered me wrong many times in the past. One of these days I'll get around to really giving it a try.
