Media Play's CD's were pretty expensive, too. Maybe that's why they're going out of business. People in malls across America are finally realizing that there is no reason to pay 18.99 for a CD.

No kidding. I mean, yeah the CDs are 40% off but if they cost that much to begin with how is it a deal? The one in Indianapolis closed years ago.

I've only ever been in 4 or 5 media plays, but i like them better than other chains. they sell/sold used stuff for cheap, and always had goodies in dollar bins and on clearance. also, their prices ranged alot. new release prices would always be beat by best buy and circut city but i think overall they've been pretty competitive when it comes to back catalog type stuff. also, the box sets are cheaper there than anywhere else besides the indie stores. i suppose i should go there one more time before they shut down for good.

Unfortunately the closest one is 65 miles away.

You guys should also keep in mind that they sell things like guitars (lotta Squires but I would buy a Squire Tele or Strat for 100 bucks if they had a Lefty in stock); plus iPod and Sat. radio accesories for 40-60% off: I may actually cruise up to the other ATL stores I know of b/c I am in the market for a home kit for my XM Roady XT (they had a car kit at my local store so I'm thinking it might be worth a drive around town to check out some other stores for the homey)
