Well...it came today.

I've finished stage one of the install. Its not as bad as everyone says, as long as you don't get the skin too wet. If its too wet, it slides around a lot and is a real PITA to keep in place.

If you get one, remember to pop out the center wheel portion before applying it. It didn't say 'after placing the front and back portions, apply the wheel portions' until the very end. It never said to poke out those portions separately in the beginning, and as I watch it dry, I realize that it would have been very hard to use the wheel with the whole skin locked together.

I guess you could just leave the wheel portions off altogether if you don't want them as well, but I figure if I'm gonna wrap this thing, I'm wrapping it tight.

The next part is the hardest part of the install.

I have to lay the ipod down and not use it for 24 hours or more while the skin adheres and the moisture behind it evaporates. I'm starting to get the shakes already.

Its pretty neat stuff all in all, I suspect its roughly the equivalent to laminating your ipod. Although you are laminating it with military grade protection, or so their site says.

As stated earlier, its almost no addition to the ipod form factor. So if you really like your iskin or contour case or whatever, you can use it with said case. Personally, I'm just happy that it will fit on my roadtrip and I don't have to worry about hitting it with my car keys. I'm not about try the test depicted on the video, I'll just trust that it works that well for now.

Thanks for the update, Mike. I can take or leave my Contour 18 case, but if I could get it protected AND attached to my battery pack...
