Yikes. That song "Black Grease" is pretty damn good. Thanks.

Thanks for the skydivers' link, "Far Away" is by far one of my favorite indie scene singles.

I just listened to this, and are you serious? What horrible, utter shite. Not an original, interesting, or enjoyable second in that entire song. blah

agreed. those vocals make me want to stab someone.
Jesus, grouchy much? C'mon, this is a friend of mine, so please cut him some slack. I mean, I'm not saying you have to even pretend to like it, but how would you feel if I said your voice makes me want to stab someone? (It doesn't -- just purely a hypothetical question. I've never heard your voice.)

Not grouchy, but it grates on me when people dismiss music as absolute crap when it carries a good tune, and the voice, while unpolished, isn't that bad. Also, sorry for not being specific about "indie tastes". That pretty much comes out to mean that bands like Firey Furnaces, crappy yelling with music that's not relaxing, doesn't get you going, and doesn't make you tap your foot, that are often the face of indie music get great reviews and recognition for, as you say, music that makes me want to stab someone.

POP LEVI.

Pop Levi plays electric piano, farfisa, vibraphone, sitar, clarinet & percussion in Super Numeri, who rule you. The demos for the solo record he's recording this winter sound incredible. 'Psych' and 'pop' are really meager words for describing this.

took a few listens to songs on his myspace and was intrigued...Blue Honey (apparently 7" release) sounds like a Led Zep rehash, Dollar Bill Rock is gonna be bought up by someone guar-en-teed.

Agreed -- notice my original comment of not having to like it. I just never understood this attitude amongst people who like music to trash-talk others' opinions. It's music -- if you don't like it, then it's simply a matter of you not being their target audience. There's no need for insults.

Dri, all of those are threatening my flacidity for some reason.

That Black Angels track is owning my azz. Finally, something to be excited about.
