Like it. Don't love it, but there are 10 or so songs over both discs that are uncontestible winners; "Movement," "Losing My Edge," "Daft Punk...," "Never As Tired..."

I'm sure there are better, more authentic dance artists out there but that doesn't make this any less fun or accomplished. Does it make me wanna dance? Yup. And that's what matters.

not in the least.

when you're exposed to some of the more creative and genre bending techno, electronic, dance music as i am [not bragging here, just saying], you can tell the difference between absolute shite and the good stuff.

when you're not exposed, you think that this type of shit is "phenomenal".
I disagree entirely. I am exposed to the more creative and genre bending stuff (I have a reputation on other boards as being an alien [which I heartily reenforce]), but still enjoy "fun" music once in a while. Hence my love for stuff like this and Franz Ferdinand and Kylie Minogue and Pink and etc. That's why I like Mouse on Mars so much -- best of both worlds (experimental yet accessible).

As I think about that comment nine hours later, I realize that was a dick head thing to say. You are that cool, huh? Dusty Chalk said it best.

Agreed. For once I (partly) agree with Blue Milk.

It's obvious that's the way you just are. Unfortunate.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing this, as it has been great for me as well. Listening and the research has been a bunch of fun. I’m glad that you ask so now I will go to two bands per day.

Dalen, can you help me out? You do know your shit and I have mad respect for that. So can you PM a list of bands you think I should cover? I will do the research just give me some ideas because I have to come up with double the amount of stuff now.

BTW, I heart Obner!

Edit: Dalen is in but is not exclusive to him. Anyone wants me to cover something for 'Year In Review' then PM those bands and I will feature them. I especially need help with some hip-hop/rap sort of stuff.

Check your PMs, this is an EAC VBR copy of the Disc 2. So the bit rate will be right around 210 but could be a bit under 192 but won’t sacrifice any quality, Exact Audio Copy is one of my favorite toys.

Anyone else want a copy of this singles collection or Disc 2 while I have a Zip file and a fresh YSI file? Let me know.

Hey, that wasn't meant as a slam against Dalen, it was just friendly disagreement. I know a lot of people who refuse to listen to "commercial" or "accessible" music, I got no problem with that. I'd rather have the experimental stuff in common with someone than the pop stuff, because I like so few pop artists, it usually doesn't lead anywhere.

Just got done with my third listen of this. Of course it's derivative as can be, but a lot more fun to listen to than most of the other acclaimed albums that came out in '05. Some of the lyrics remind me of Zappa's "We're Only In It For The Money". My top 20 of 2005 list will hopefully be ready by early 2007 (poor), but this looks to be in my top 4.
