I've got to be at my new apartment (which is pretty close by) between 3pm and 7pm to take delivery of a piece of furniture. Otherwise I'm flexible.

I've noticed before that Secondspin is generous with what they'll give for cds but I have a much easier time using the credit at Amoeba. Do you still find that you get more in cash from Secondspin than you would in credit at Amoeba?

Secondspin, I dont think gives credit.. each time i sold at the store, they gave me cash..I never really bought much from them anyway..

Amoeba, I found that it seemed like the guy would just look over my pile of CD"s and make up a price off the top of his head for the ones they wanted. However, I did sell back some stuff on a seperate trip tot he Hollywood store that they gave me great credit for...I think it all depends on what time of the day it is and who you get buying your stuff back...

When I brought some stuff to the Berkely store last year, I really feel like the low balled me, but at the same time, i didnt want to drag the stuff home, so I took them on their offer...

So, I think Id rather have the guy at second spin run each cd thru the computer and i get a more honest tally.. And whatevr cash i get immediately goes to the Amoeba fund.

They actually do give credit and unlike Amoeba's credit which you have to use that day, you can use a credit at Secondspin whenever you feel like it and can use it for purchases via their website. Its a pretty good deal, but with my tastes running more obscure recently, I have better luck finding things I want at Amoeba. I usually trade a pretty big stack of things at Amoeba and don't really get a price per cd other than asking which pile they aren't giving me much at all for and then reconsidering whether to trade that stack. I know Amoeba can be a bit stingy but I always just assumed that their credit transaction would be more than someone elses' cash transaction. I guess I could be wrong on that though.
