The Wand is pretty good, certainly much better than that Wedding Crashers song and the stuff from their last few EPs. It doesn't really make me excited about the new album, though.

Wow, I'm not really sure what to make of that yet. Had I heard that somewhere without knowing what it was, I don't think I'd immediately put "Flaming Lips" to it.

I think I got most excited hearing Drozd's drumming. The rest . . . like someone else said, very 70s, very ELOish. However, this might really grow on me, so . . .

on hearing the new song, "the w.a.n.d.",

i think it sounds like what the beatles would sounded like in the 80's if....

on the album release date,

the album is released on april 4th....

fucking love it/have been hearing it on WOXY. Why don't I own every single thing they've ever made? If I had discovered them before 2000 (barring "She Don't Use Jelly"), just imagine the possiblities. The Lips...one of those bands that just syncs up to my brainwaves.
