In honour of its continental release today, I am hereby pimping this the last track off Super Numeri's 'The Welcome Table' entitled "The Babies". A banger to end all things.

RIYL: sprawling groove-inflected psycho kraut-jazz, I guess; nothing you've heard before (or recently)

Let me know what you think.

Does it have any vocals? The music is really good.

this is good.

kinda sounds like something that might be on the next wilco record if they continue in the "spiders (kidsmoke)" direction....

Huh?

The first track on the record, "The First League of Angels", is a remarkable 25-minute piece - a glorious exercise in minimalism, layering, interplay and adventure. Very unlike Wilco. (Granted, I haven't heard the "Spiders".)

ha...i knew that i'd get a "huh?" response. "spiders" is kinda unlike anything else wilco has done before too...so....

this song in particular just sounded similar to me.

This is nice. Kinda somewhere in between OOIOO and recent Black Dice.

But with nice guitar stuff.

That's actually a really good encapsulation.

"The Babies" is the most accessible and concise piece on the record.

It's true, though. You may have a hard time finding this in some stores. It's a pretty low-key release. Some rare shit, that is.

edit: So you can always order it online.

For those that might've missed the YSI link (which actually hasn't expired), there is a version of "The Babies" for download at Pitchfork.

If you like it, tell them to review it.
