They haven't put it in order (don't know if they usually do, I forget.)

Point is, Aerosmith is in the top 50.

And this is surprising, how?

I think they always take the lame route and just do things alphabetically.

I'm more bothered by the fact that anything with any member of The Rolling Stones on it automatically gets a free pass.

"Alfie"? Bollocks. Jagger could sneeze on tape and they'd give it 5 stars. Not that this is surprising, but it still bothers me.

Sorry LooG.

If there's a soundtrack that deserves "of the year" honors it's "Garden State". There for a while it seemed like everyone I knew was on pace to own that thing.

No apologies needed, sir. Even I don't own Alfie...Goddess in the Doorway on the other hand

An absolutely horrible list from my point of view.

Any list that even considers Big and Rich anything other than wretched crap should be immediately discounted.

Why would anyone but overgrown frat boys give a crap about Jimmy Buffett at this point in time? (or any other really)

Elton John made a record? He does more than bitch about fellow celebs in the press?

What makes one Phish record any different than any other Phish record?

Aerosmith? In 2004? Wasn't that some lame covers record or somethin'?

Well, it is Rolling Stone, but man, that's a pretty wretched list, even by their standards. I really don't care much about these lists at all, and usually just glance at 'em and laugh. This is probably the first one I've looked at in years that's gotten me to really react, maybe that's the point.

I actually kind of like the Alfie soundtrack.

Wouldn't crack my top 150. But I have enjoyed it the 2 times I listened.

That list is rather disturbing.

Eric Clapton? Isn't it time for him to go away now?

Gwen Stefani? Oh please.

Phish? oh my.

The Rolling Stones-???

Elton John- see above Clapton comments. Apply to here.

Aerosmith-what the?

Jimmy Buffet- is this year "old rock star comeback even though we don't want you to come-back" year?

I mean they do have some good choices on here, but some of these are just reaching.

Wait, what the hell am I saying? It's Rolling Stone. Of course.

Maybe if you listened to some of these records instead of just dismissing them outright, you wouldn't come off like such an elitist prick dude.

I don't like Buffet, but that record he made was actually a country record and did quite well.

If you don't know anything about Phish (you obviously dont, judging by your post) then leave them be; Undermind is actually pretty good.

You certainly have the right to like or not like whatever you want to, but I would use better judgement in judging books by your perceptions of their covers

Go ahead and disagree, but I have heard the Phish record, got a couple friends that like 'em. I think they're another lame jam band, which I can't stand, but I guess can see making a case for them within their genre.

As to Jimmy Buffett, I've always found him to be crap. OK, I haven't heard his latest, but I think a 20 year career of putting out crap I don't wanna hear excuses me from having to sit through another of his.

Sorry if I hurt your little feelings. I'll feel free to be as much of a prick as I wanna be, but personally I think whining because someone made a negative remark about a record and resorting to calling them a name is a bit more "prickish" than my post.

Yeah, elitist because I disagreed with a Rolling Stone list...that makes sense.

You didn't hurt my feelings; I dont have any.

I could care less what you think, I just wanted you to see both sides of the story regarding the Phish record. (As stated above, I dont like Buffet's music either, but I do respect him for what he does.)

That is all; Not feeling very chipper today and probably took the damn thing a little too personally. No offense intended.

I think I have the flu.

Seeing Brian Wilson's name next to Gretchen Wilson nearly made me cry, overdose on OTC drugs, and drink whiskey.

I managed to hold back the tears though.

The list may indeed be shitty, but, I'd be willing to bet that these 10 do all right in the Shmoo poll

Complaining about Rolling Stone for likeing shitty music is like complaining about fire or buring stuff. That's what is does. That's what it's for. It's a terrible mainstream magazine that has sucked for as long as I can remember. Why is the crappiness of this list causing such sock, debate, and anger?

IT'S FREAKING ROLLING STONE!
