An other list but this one (from my local rag) actually lives up to the tag.

One of the best 'best albums ever' lists I've seen and the writing is really good too.

Check it out.

Destroyer?! As a KISS fan I declare this to be nonesuch. Its such an easy pick.

11-20--3 live albums? I can name albums by each which are better.

31-40--gotta respect the Skip Spence and Sam the Sham picks.

You know I like a good best of record, when I'm trying to get into someone where the stuff is oop or just rare. Choosing "Decade" though, as great as it is, is just plain lazy.

61-70--god bless! someone finally recognizes Spacemen 3!

Ok, there are 2 Dylan bootleg series sets on this list? Wtf.

With all my warbling, I have 2 things to say:

1)the amount of greatest hits and live albums is astounding.
2)I respect this list. I really do. They picked out some of the albums I herald (maggotbrain) and also picked some steady faves (VU & Nico/Funhouse). I'll have to read deeper into their descriptions.

Fun list..some new ones that you don't see on them kinda things much.

Really glad to see Charlie Feathers on there...Dion too. And, yeah props for picking KISS so high.

I just hate mixing in the jazz...like he's being all-inclusive, buof the greatest 105 records like 95 of them just happen to be rock records...just a pet peeve, he does pick some nice jazz ones too.

Also really like the Throbbing Gristle and Fairport Convention picks up high.

Yeah, lots of live stuff on there...but gotta say that Ramones It's Alive record really does kick some serious ass.

Please, though...anyone who saw that Shaggs record as anything other than funny for about 30 seconds is really stretching things.

I think I'll go listen to that Suicide record now...

Definitely a different take on things, with only a few WTF's. The inclusion of Fred Neil and Bunny Wailer is enough to redeem any occasional missteps.

Is this an old list? It looks kind of familiar. So does the picture of the writer. Did he do another list one time?

That's a kick ass best of. Not the one I'd write, obviously, but totally justified. Worth reading the descriptions, too.

Fun list -- obviously snarky, but we need a kick in the pants once in a while -- even find it hard to argue with some of his selections (Black Sabbath's first album, King Crimson's Red, Kinks' Village Green Preservation Society [I know a Kinks fan who likes that album a lot]), but some of them are seriously WTF-worthy: Dark Magus? Alpha Centauri?!?!? (I mean, c'mon, that's like one of Tangerine Dream's worst albums!) Throbbing Gristle at #2?!?!?

And a couple of safe bets: Agents of Fortune, Hounds of Love, etc.

Yep. Just another mook with an opinion. And nice try on the inclusion of Bat Out Of Hell - that sort of ersatz Springsteen must seem reeeeally exotic while huddling around a tea cozy because there's no central heating in your 300 yr old thatched roof cottage.

F*ck you, sir.

Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs - Pharoahization! is his best atypical choice. That's an 80s Rhino best of whose expanded CD version is now out of print. Dark Magus is comparable to more famous Davis albums of the period so I don't consider it a WTF. I got mine from the now defunct Columbia House club. It would be a good BMG pickup but I don't think they have it.

I see why people might want to wail on this album, it's kind of dumb and melodramatic but I've always loved it. It always reminds me of long drives around Superior.
