1 - remember when you said something obvious and your friend said "no shit sherlock" - what was the response to that? i believe watson was in the response.

2 - there's this commercial where a girl has you guess her age and she says she liked the TV STAR Ralph Macchio. What TV show was he in? I thought he was only a movie star from The Outsiders and The Karate Kid...? that is really annoying me.

3 - can you name a movie where a guy gets punched or slapped on the rooftop. not an action movie, more like a love triangle or romance movie.

thank you all.

1. there shouldn't be a response. if anyone was stupid enough to be told that, then the normal response should be to shut up and hang your head.

2. wasn't he on the late 70s early 80s abc drama called "family" w/ kristy macnicoll(sp?). i kinda recall he was a foster child or something like that.

3. i think it was disney's "beauty and the beast"

I always thought it was "Keep Digging Watson"

Wasnt Macchio on "Entourage" last season in the episode where they went to the Playboy Mansion?

Behind toilet seats and Scott Baio, I bet Ralph did pretty well back in the day.

Here a question... it's for you science types...

Is it true that turning on and off your computer actually uses for energy than just leaving your computer on all the time? (A friend told me this awhile ago but I'm not sure I believe it.)

I want to know this from two perspectives:

- energy conservation (i.e. which is better for consuming less energy?)

- ware and tear on the computer (i.e. which is better for the computer?)

pls + thx

I believe its true that the startup/shutdown process uses more energy than just leaving the computer on sleep mode. Its not a wear and tear issue, but its worthwhile from a performance standpoint to reboot periodically to clear your cache and free up RAM. Particularly if you multi task alot, have many programs and large files open, etc. I tend to leave on but reboot once a week or more often if my computer seems slow. I think there are programs/software you can get this make this unnecessary but I've never considered enough of an issue to explore any further than that.

1 - [sarcastic]Thank you, Watson![/sarcastic]

2 - no clue, Ralph Macchio's IMDB entry

3 - After Hours, perhaps? Movie kind of defied categorization.

The answer to #3 might be "So I Married An Axe Murderer."

I thought of that, but wasn't sure.

This appears to be the correct answer, at least according to this page

i don't think this is right, but what about "elementary my dear watson..." i don't think that's it though.

I always heard "dig deeper, holmes"

But when you think about this, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Keep diggin' Watson is the correct answer. thank you soooo much!

so anyway i wrote a song in my dream called "Punched On The Rooftop", and in the dream I declare that the song was written due to the fact that there are SO MANY movies where a guy gets punched or slapped on the rooftop. When I woke up I had a new song, and I wrote it down and everything, but could not remember for the life of me any movie scene where a guy gets punched on the rooftop. in itself it's very weird, but for me expecially, since i never hardly ever ever write songs that are even remotely cryptic. my songs are usually very literal, but this one does have that weird part about being punched on the rooftop.

Jason punched that dude's head off on the rooftop in Jason Takes Manhattan.
