Anyone else catch this today? Really the first baseball I've watched since the WS, and man am I hankering now for it. This was pretty interesting in that they picked amateur players and had them play via the 30s-40s way. All vintage equipment, umps wearing bowties, hell they even left their gloves on the field in between innings. I really hope that Classic would continue to sponsor such events, as it gives an insight into the history of the game. I was disheartened when I visited cooperstown this past summer and people didn't know what the "deadball era" was. Its almost like people don't want to realize that baseball transcends past the 60s.

A few years back Smithsonian magazine had a great article about this. All about the revivalists that wanted to play the game how it was played over 100 years ago. I remember thinking, "No gloves?!..now that's just nuts!"
