It's going to be sold at Vintage Vinyl in Evanston, for you Chicagoans who are interested.
If anyone else is interested, I'll be happy to get you in touch with the guy who's putting it together.

He is just obsessed with sitar in rock/psychadelic music. And he's assembled a whole bunch of rarities.
His description in a recent email to me:
Quote:
It appears that Sitar Cerebrations, vol. 1-11 will go on sale at Vintage
Vinyl early next year. The Bad Boy seemed to like my prototypes, but
wanted to see the full set before discussing consignment arrangements. I
must admit they look pretty cool: full color front & back inserts and
labels, and informative and entertaining (to some degree) notes. Over 200
songs from 1966-2004 performed by over 200 different artists; over 8 hours
of music all with SITAR. Just a little bit like heaven.

Let me know if you want to know more.

I hope Denny Dias' electric sitar solo from Steely Dan's 'Do It Again' is on it.

Email me and I'll get you my friend's email address.
I'm sure he'll be happy to sell you copies directly over the 'net.
Just tell him that I sent you.

... that's like putting a pick-up in a bowl of curry -- it just can't feel right at all...
