Wiener Circle is better, but Hot Doug's closes at 4pm. bummer.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I have my heart set on some deep dish while I'm up there. It's probably the #1 thing I miss about Chicago.

Oh, and the show is Saturday April 18th.

Closest would be Chicago's on Sheffield and Wrightwood.

Chicago's is on Sheffield and Wellington, not Wrightwood. Either way it's awesome.

Chicago's takes delivery orders until 5am. You can't go wrong in a place like that.

Wiener's Circle is horrible. I ate there with Gene Ween and my ex and couldn't get out of there fast enough. If I want to be insulted while I'm eating, I'll have hot dogs with my mother. The girls in back were even talking shit to the Ween dude. I was like, "YO! Do you know who this is?"

Def. get a beer next door at The Gingerman before or after the show. Incredible selection of great stuff.

as far as food...
My picks include:
Weiner Circle -- The Obner is so correct on this one.

Or, when you're at The Riv:
Black Diamond -- Ethiopian restaurant on Broadway, a little ways north of Lawrence, 3/4 mile or so? I had a meal there with Spade Matt once and it was great stuff.

Or, right in that same area...
Argyle St. has a whole bunch of good little Vietnamese restaurants, just east of Broadway.
