Imax decided to shoot a documentary about hurricanes here (before Katrina and Rita). My dad happened to be dropping off my sister at a local play she was involved in. The producer of the doc saw my dad and cast him as the lead in a flashback scene as he looked identical to the real man when he was my dad's age. The movie was originally supposed to released internationally this month. But in light of the recent hurricanes, they shot some new footage and decided to delay the release because they think it has a chance to win an Academy Award. Anyways, I believe the documentary is gonna be titled Warning. Just thought it was pretty cool that my dad who by no means ever wanted to be in a movie could possibly be in an academy award winning film.

It is under consideration for an Academy Award and hasn't even been finished yet?

It's finished. But the company that's putting it out has decided to wait on releasing it because they think it has a real shot. So they want to release it closer to the Awards time. It probably won't win or anything but for my Dad who has never lived anywhere besides Houma, and never planned on anything like this, it's pretty cool.

THat actually is pretty cool. I am down to see this film.
