I'm just not feeling it. There's not a lot of soul contained in these here tracks.

after my friend ranted on and on about how great they were, i was so disappointed after seeing them at the mercury lounge. i only liked one song the others were just okay. i wasn't expecting something mind blowing, but just felt eh... performance wise they had energy, musically, it was just nothing special, just guitar shit i don't really care for.

i especially did not like it when alex told the photographers to stop shooting. the damn roadie kept stopping people from shooting. did it ever occur to you that some people are working and just doing their jobs? if you didn't want cameras, you should've played at the bowery ballroom.

so... review of last night's show in la.

i couldn't believe how packed the fonda was, as many shows i've been to at that venue, i've NEVER seen it that packed. missed the spinto band who opened (due to my best friend's tardiness - surprise, surprise) and we got there about 2 songs into the set... great energy. the lead singer alex is adorable, i want to put him in a jar and take him home.

thing is, you could tell they were overwhelmed with the crowd's response (crowd was high energy) and they seemed a little nervous as well.

and apparently a lot of celebs were there too: adam brody from the o.c. (i almost jumped out of the car and chased him. ok no, not really but i did freak out because he's SO hot), meg white, and the lead singer of the rapture were there.

i saw them at a small venue a couple of months ago, and i liked that performance better (maybe because i could actually SEE the stage) but they definitely are a fun band to watch live.
