catching rays, staring out at the endless blue sea and listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the reef. when out of nowhere, some douchebag couple starts cranking coldplay's "x&y" on their freaking boombox, which they brought with them to the island! i couldn't fucking believe it!!!
i realized that to each his own, and i didn't say anything to them, but now i really hate that album more than ever!!!

Kinda my thoughts.
But it's still obnoxious.

They should ban Coldplay in public places.

Like my honeymoon cruise, where there was NO escaping Buster Poindexter's "Hot Hot Hot" at any time during the entire week. That song still gives me nightmares.

Yikes Bob, that story scared me a little.

and yeah, while I loathe coldplay, if that's the worst thing that happened to you in Jamaica you should be doing a jig right now.

The non-stop top-notch all-you-can-eat buffets made it worthwhile, despite the Johansense.

Sounds like my trip to Playa del Carmen, where I heard "Red Red Wine," "Follow the Leader" (which I think is now the Mexican national anthem) and "Popcorn" enough times to last me a lifetime.

all you can eat buffets are dangerous for people like me - always on the brink of gluttony

Yeah, I left "the brink" in my wake about 20 years ago.

I used to love buffets. And despite being well on my way to being a BIGFATFUCK, they disgust me. Well, disgust is too strong. They are like Taco Bell, about once a year or so, I get a craving, go eat it, and then wonder why the fuck I just did that to myself.

I can't remember what music was playing when we went to Jamaica, but I do remember getting the massive runs when I got back.

Well, if we can stretch the definition of music to include Animal Collective, then I'm sure those massive runs came with musical accompaniment.

That was the least of my worries. I think the water (ice in drinks) and bad food (Roast Janice) had a lot to do with it. That and whatever I was putting in myself was cut with.

Jesus, just thinking about the amount I SWEATED that week is frightening. You would think I coulda got the poison out that way.

And seriously, if you are mongin' out on the beach, would X&Y be THAT terrible?

that's why you just start bass wars... i do it all the time at work. when i hear shitty music, i start blasting mine louder. and usually if i'm at the beach, we bring a ghettoblaster so it's never a problem listening to shitty music. ;)
