Yeah, that's pretty amusing. Though I could deconstruct many of his points pretty easily, starting with his statement that ATYCLB was "inconsequential" and that no one except diehard fans know what the members of U2 look like. The album was a monster hit worldwide and all four members are nearly as recognized worldwide as the Pope.

Also, the dude's one of the many millions who mistake "self-important prigs" with "holier than thou" There is a difference. U2 think they're important, but they don't think they're better than you personally. It's a matter of recognizing that gigantic egos can reside in basically nice and well-meaning people.

Actually, I got this CD for Christmas from a well-meaning friend. It's quite good, if you like U2 that is.

The bonus DVD is revealing. Anyone who thinks they have rockstar attitudes is missing the joke that U2 has been having on the world. They're pretty humble fellows. Bono uses his fame to draw attention to causes he supports.
