Or any other supernatural phenomena? UFOs, little green men, elves, etc.

Share your stories here.

There were some bright lights dancing over my hometown a couple of years ago but the army blamed it on gas refracting the light or some shit. That's the best i got... :(

coming home from a show about four years ago, my friends in two other cars claimed to have seen blue cylindrical lights hovering over the road for many miles. and one person had seen these lights months before on the same stretch of road. of course, nobody in my car saw anything. no explanation.

when i was a little kid, there were a lot of mysterious disappearances in a section of a rainforest in puerto rico that had been closed off because of excessive damage due to hurricanes. my grandmother said the locals often claimed that they saw strange lights in the rainforest at night. the military base in vieques also apparently ran some drills through this area. someone we know said they saw a fighter jet chasing bright lights over the rainforest one night. i never saw this with my own eyes. i have no idea if there were any further developments or if the disappearances have continued. i haven't been there in probably twelve years.

I saw a small meteorite hit the ground about 60 yards ahead of me once.

It was just like a streak of light that appeared diagonally in front of me. It came out of nowhere and was incredible fast and landed somewhere in scrub land ahead of me. There was no chance of me finding it because it was pitch black, it was difficult to work out exactly where it came down and I wouldn't even been sure what I was looking for.

I was also on a steep ridge about 50 feet above the area it fell on and it would have been hassle getting down there anyway.

Whenever I tell people, everyone says stuff like "yeah! meteorite how come we're not all dead then?! Ha ha ha, meteorite you nut!." or "seen anyone 20 mile wides craters lately? me neither, ha ha ha".

Fucking pricks. I KNOW WHAT I SAW.

It probably was a meteorite, but just a speck of meteor-dust. Meteorites don't have to be the size of New York to be visible. The ionized air around them can look much bigger than the actual meteorite. Most of the ones we see in meteor showers are nothing more than mere pebbles, or smaller, basically.

Yes. At my college, which is notoriously haunted as well as the surrounding areas, sightings are common, if not regular. There is a true story of a girl, in the 50s, who was supposd to be homecoming queen, but the night before she slipped and fell. The people in the dorm thought she had just gotten a slight injury, but it turned out to be a head trauma and she died overnight, thus not receiving her crown the next day. She apparently appears on the football field the eve of homecoming, and freshman year about 20 of us sat out there all night. We didn't drink, so we were lucid. About 2am we starting hearing what sounded like a band warming up. it was a clear night, and about 45 mins later the sky got cloudy, and a mist (swear to god) covered the field. According to the stories we heard she was to appear on the 50 yrd line, but she actually appeared at one end in the endzone. She had a billowy white dress. We walked closer as she stood there, we were still about 50 feet off when some people came around behind where she was "standing" and the vision dissappeared. Honest to god, 20 of us witnessed this, and it made my hair stand on end.
------

Another thing is that there was an exorcism done in one of the dorm rooms. Its on school record, and the crossed made in oil can still be made out when the light hits them right. In that dorm crazy crap went down all the time. In the attic a few girls hung themselves and whenever you go up there, you get a definite "cold" feeling.

------

When another of the dorms was being built there was a large rock that was immovable, so they built the foundation around it. While building, a worker fell from the roof and onto the rock. He haunts the dorm. He turns stereo volumes high sporadically and smashes picture frames. Yummy.

-------

In Harper's Ferry if you walk around at night you might bump into John Brown walking his dog like I have. I was with a few people one night taking in a great evening (again no substances) and this guy comes walking down the street with his dog (it was about 3:45am). We say hi and proceed. As soon as we walk past him, we turn around as he looked interesting and he was gone. Crazy.

when i was 18, my maternal grandmother died. the summer after her death (also the summer between hs & college), i was out with two girlfriends. it was getting late, so i wanted to go home and close my bedroom door so it would appear that i was sleeping. they waited in the car outside my house while i ran in. next to my bedroom door is a door leading to the back porch with a huge glass pane and curtain on it. when i was leaving, i went to pull the door shut behind me and saw a hand pull the door back. my mom, grandma and i all have similar hands, so i thought it was my mom's hand. i started backpedaling like, "yeah, so i was just going to say goodbye to vikkii and andrea..." and when i looked behind the door, no one was there. i freaked out and ran outside to tell my friends that i wasn't going with them. it was a good thing, too, because they were pulled over in chicago and their parents were called. so, i think my grandma saved my ass from getting in trouble with my mom.

i also lived in a haunted apartment with my ex. the hallway always smelled like italian food despite being shared by a puerto rican couple and two whiteys (us). we always heard footsteps through our living room and dining room despite living on the top floor. the kitchen cabinets were almost always open even after we'd close them. great apartment, but it came with some pretty odd ghost tenants.

Savannah is lousy with ghosts, especially ghosts of slaves, which I can assure you are the scariest, most pissed off ghosts ever. I never saw one, though, becuase traipsing around in old human cargo wharehouses isn't really my thing.

I remain confident that I saw a ghost when I was 6, but that's my story.

Except for the Italian food, all of this happens at my apartment, but it's because the floors are thin (so you can clearly hear the people walking in the hall of the apartment beneath us) and the kitchen cabinets are crappy and have been painted over too many times to close properly.

I could see Savannah being creepy at night. Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil always makes me a bit weird about the city. My sis moved down there recently, hopefully I can take in the scenes when I come visit her.

sneaking into Bonaventure cemetary after dark is pretty effing scary, as is the historic one downtown. Other than that, though, you get used to the Spanish Moss. If you ever head down there I can promise you the ghost tours are a waste of time. We used to drive around harrassing them and blaring Afrika Bambataa. ...because that's what scares the ghosts off.

There are ghosts everywhere. Residual energy fields, not actual beings.

Well, except for that ghost dude that screwed Anna Nicole. He's probably real.
