there's this guy i know only a bit. only enough to know that he likes "alternative" rock and likes Pearl Jam. i'll probably give him a few bort compilations, but they might not be up his alley. some cool pearl jam stuff that he doesn't already have would be the safety net gift.

i've got pearl jam at cuyahoga hall (i think that's how it's spelled), maybe from the early 00's or late 90's.

your best bet would be to befriend a member of the pearl jam fan club. they always have the best boots.

edit: if you want a copy, pm me.

I've got some old bootlegs as well as a bunch of the shows that they released themselves. Unfortunately I'm at work all day.

Are you aware that Pearl Jam released dozens of official bootlegs, every single one of which was professionally recorded?

The one to get is Mansfield, July 11, 2003 - it's three discs, 48 songs. The first disc is an acoustic set, the other two disc are the rest of the regular concert. PM me if interested, I'll up it for you tonight.

Here's AllMusic's review:

Pearl Jam eases into its epic 48-song Mansfield, MA, show with the poignant "Long Road" from the 1996 film Dead Man Walking. It is the perfect opener for these aging alternative giants who have made a mission out of avoiding the path of least resistance and putting on marathon live shows. This first set of the evening sticks to acoustic versions of fan favorites like "Indifference" and "Sometimes" before breaking for a Sleater-Kinney set (not included). Set two kicks off with an ominous version of "Can't Keep" from Riot Act before exploding into brutal, full-throated renderings of "Breakerfall" and "Brain of J." Frontman Eddie Vedder sounds tired yet incrementally possessed as the show continues, delivering the anthemic "Why Go" with its chorus of "Why go home/Why go home" like a schoolyard dare. The audience takes his advice and screams through three encores, including classics like "Jeremy" and classic covers like "Fortunate Son" and "Rockin' in the Free World," before delivering the enduring singalong B-side "Yellow Ledbetter" like the blue-collar road dogs the band has become.

DISC 1:
1. Long Road
2. Of The Girl
3. Sometimes
4. Off He Goes
5. All Those Yesterdays
6. Driftin'
7. Thin Air
8. Sleight Of Hand
9. Footsteps
10. All Or None
11. Parting Ways
12. Indifference

DISC 2:
1. Can't Keep
2. Breakerfall
3. Brain Of J.
4. Spin The Black Circle
5. Ghost
6. Green Disease
7. Tremor Christ
8. Given To Fly
9. Nothing As It Seems
10. Cropduster
11. Faithful
12. Why Go
13. Wishlist
14. Leatherman
15. Nothingman
16. Betterman
17. 1/2 Full

DISC 3:
1. Untitled
2. MFC
3. Blood
4. Encore Break
5. Breath
6. Habit
7. Down
8. Mankind
9. U
10. Black
11. Jeremy
12. Encore Break
13. I Believe In Miracles
14. Know Your Rights
15. Fortunate Son
16. Rockin' In The Free World

The one I've got sounds pretty damn good. I'd have to look but I'd assume that they are probably all soundboard>multitrack (adat?) and then remixed and mastered digitally at a pretty high level.

I don't really see pearl jam putting out crappy quality though I could be wrong.

The one I have sounds great. I bought it back when I was giving them a second chance after I had my flourish with them in the early 90s. I actually bought (Berlin?) because they did "Baba O' Riley".
