The style of this group is something that's usually right up my alley, that's quality chamber-ish pop, influenced by sophistipop of the mid-late 80's -- older groups I like Aztec Camera, Shelleyan Orphan, The Lilac Time, Deacon Blue, China Crisis, Danny Wilson, etc, with some early Poi Dog Pondering hints, some Decemberists leanings, a slight bit of Felt in there and some nods toward all the Mojave 3-ish groups. But the guy's voice is damned boring. Just shows how ineffable this type of sound is and how getting it just a tiny bit off can make it all meh.

Maybe I'll like it more later. Dunno, but it's annoying to think you're going to like something and then don't much.
