i actually think scientology is weirder than mormonism after reading that article someone posted on rad's scientology thread. an intergalactic madman killing all the aliens from the surrounding galaxies in a volcano... now that's priceless.

Yeah, I think that takes the cake.

But, is it really all that farther fetched than a lot of religious stories? I don't know. If you've got faith, you've got faith, whether it relates to aliens and volcanos or archangel Gabriels and your own universe.

I thought this was a turd. This is your first episode.....give me something.

I watched it with a couple of girls who became annoyed/mildly angry at the whole thing. I mean does HBO think that this shit will play to Red state America? Hell I thought it was going to be a comedy/drama type thing. Not a serious look at polygamy. I mean......seriously?

I can see how the premise could produce hundreds of story lines but I don't think people will stick with it long enough to "appreciate their love for each other". The whole thing just struck me as awkward for some reason.

I waited and waited for it to be funny or shocking or anything. The show bored me. Although I don't normally like Jeanne Tripplehorn, but she was tolerable in this program. Almost likeable.

Yeah, I kept waiting for this to go somewhere, but this show delivers nothing but an endless litany of Bill Paxton ass shots. Granted, it could be worse (Harvey Keitel, anyone?), but not even the eerie visage of Laura Palmer's/Susan Ross' mother can save this crapfest from disaster.

I'm actually now hooked on this show. Harry Dean Stanton as the head of the molo cult is enough to bring me back. He is obviously a psychopath, and I'm just gonna wait to see him go bucky.

AND, this show is setting itself up to be a pretty cool commentary/metaphor on traditionalism v. modern society, and what happens when they interact/get mixed up. (See the daughter giving Roman's new 'wife' an ipod mini)

This has potential, yes, yes.

That dude is creepy as hell. When Bill walks in the bedroom and sees Nikki in there with her father lolling about on the bed. Ugh, fucking horrible. This definitely has potential.
