If I remember correctly he shot in segments of like 15 minutes. Meaning a "take" was 15 minutes long.

Yeah, each take it about 15-20 minutes long (that was the amount of film a camera can hold), but it is edited so that it is difficult (but not impossible) to see where the cuts are. It plays out like one huge take. It's a very interesting experiment, and a fairly successful film, I think.
