for buildings.

If I take an offer that wil be extended to me shortly. (all they need to do is throw a number at me, since they said they want to hire me)
I interviewed at this structural engineering firm that has an architecture department that does a lot of building facade forensics. I'd get to go up on swing stages (window washer things) and man lifts (no not opa) and poke around on buildings that have their facades failing (falling off), or leaking. It's a pretty cool niche to get into, and the pay should be better than a traditional office. Plus the work should be a lot more stimulating than hearing some rich bitch complain about how the color of her marble countertop doesn't feel right to her, or match the color of her plaster walls or persian rugs.

w00t

(It also means I would have less ability to be on the board during office hours, so maybe I should turn it down.)

But will I want to make out with you like I want to make out with Grissom?

I believe this is a bit more important.

(congrats, by the way)

This sounds really cool! You should take it.

I do the computer support for the police crime lab here, and it is always an interesting place to visit. I bet you'd always be doing something different, which is a very important benefit in a job, IMO.

No girl can resist me. Especially when I am holding my daughter. I took her to the BMV last weekend when I went to change over my Illinois license, and I had a flock of girls following me around. (it was because of the baby.)

Did I mention that I would get to (or have to depending on how you look at it) hang off tall buildings?

And here I dreamt you were an ARCHITECT.

Will you at least get to do forensics on the new wing of the Guggenheim?

yeah, i love guys with babies. then i remember that they didn't birth the kids themselves, so they're probably married or otherwise attached. damn babies... trick me every time. that's why i stick to guys with puppies.

This is great news timmyjoe, it sounds interesting. Any chance you might do some work on any historical buildings or is it mostly structural integrity on moderns to see if they're still up to code?

Basically it's anything.

I'll be working at Great American Ballpark and Paul Brown Stadium a lot because the buildings were built so quickly and cheaply that the construction and detailing was really poor, so they are destined to leak somewhere, forever. There will be buildings all over the city and country. They said they will be starting the Hamilton County Courthouse soon. A lot of their work is facade work on malls across the country, so who knows, I could be spending the night in a town near you very soon.

They haven't called with their official offer yet. Patience young Jedi.
