That was here in San Diego in the mid-90s. Totally awesome. I saw a documentary about it on the local PBS station a few months ago, and I guess the guy had drug problems and couldn't find a job after being laid off from the defense industry that used to have a very large presence here. The police ended up shooting him in the head, I think, while he was still in the tank after he crashed into the freeway divider. Kind of fucked up, really. But still awesome.

Agh man i didn't realise they shot him in the head. That was San diego. Cool. Great show, i remember him crushing a streetlight and demolishing some cars. I'd like to find out some more about this. Internet trawl.

Update:

The blood that was found in a dumpster behind the missing student's dorm was a match, so now they're checking the garbage truck's gps system to find the landfill he unloaded at where it seems that they will inevitably find the freshman's body.
