The "fun" of radio never. Never. Stops.

A blurb sheet for some tiny-label soft rock artist:

They Keep Sending Me Mail And I Keep Throwing It Away Wrote:
The lyrics are dead-on when it comes to tugging at the heartstrings! Jon Patrick McClaren sucessfully combines James Blunt's sensitivity and Rob Thomas' passion! "Princess" is perfectly targeted to radio-listening females. Listen! Enjoy! Add! His passion isn't just something manufactured in the studio...it's really there!

And to think I once played Dean & The Weenies "Fuck You" for an hour straight on my college show

Sigh.

for some reason, i always get a kick out of press releases from publicists that use all caps in the subject line -- for classical or AC artists.

You know exclamation points are the perky person's command.

This is fun! You'll love it!

Is James Blunt the one who keeps telling me that I'm beautiful?

His rep will probably be googling for artist mentions, this thread will come up and she'll have to get on here and mouth off at me.

Has anyone seen those commercials on VH1 for some new artists they're trying to break or something? There's this band The Fray and I seriously want to punch the douchebag of a singer in the face.

It's almost always a bad idea to see the videos for male AC artists. Because they're always pathetic little constipated gerbil creatures in stupid hats.

I think they're more an emo-type band. Maybe not emo but Coldplay-ish or something similarly limp-dicked. There's a part at the end of the commercial where the singer is gesturing back and forth with his hand and he goes "this...is the fray".

Yeah, the "Over My Head (Cable Car)" is in heavy rotation at my station. I hate it less than Nickleback but that's the same as hating testicle burns more than ass rash.

James Blunt on the commercial side and Elliott Smith on the indie side -- I mean, once I was perusing my local indie music store and read the sticker on three different c.d.s and each compared the artists to Elliott Smith.
