This is scary accurate and laugh out-loud wrong in so-o-o many ways. I have to admit, I long for quite a lot of this emerging lifestyle, and then have to admit how sad it is that I'm so into my world and am forcing my daughter and son to listen to Wolf Parade and Gorillaz.

it is long, but probably worth it...

I was disqualfied at "eleven pairs of sneakers," but the "we will not listen to The Wiggles in this house" really cemented the non-yupster status.

My son's journey through toddlerhood and his coping with his nerve disorder were greatly eased by those Aussie ninnies.

Reading that made me wish I was a medieval peasant.

Indie-rock parenting can be challenging.

"Daddy, this Decemberists song that's on, this 'A Cautionary Song,' what's this song about, anyway?"

Uh, pirates, it's about pirates.
