I don't what to think of all this. My Democratic party side says she might be right about the racism allegations, but mostly I believe she has been in Congress too long and now feels entitled to come and go as she pleases rather than follow the rules.
I think you should basically wear your ID badge at all times if you are in a place that requires you to wear one, especially to enter without getting searched.
If they change the policy to appease representatives like her, they are at risk of having someone get past security who will do some real damage.

The Congressional Black Caucus is meeting tonight about all of this, and her own party has basically ostracized her over this issue and refuses to come to her aid.

I guess I am wondering what all the Georgians think of this.

I think she's got a point, but it's still pretty ridiculous.

I also think the Democratic party is now officially more useless than ryan seacrest's dick.

I actually think the Democratic Party is doing something right on this issue and starting to come around in general. If they could only silence Howard Dean and Al Gore at this moment, they would be doing even better. Recently it seems like most of the Democratic Leadership that gets on my nerves and that tends to talk about the most asanine issues have kept themselves quiet and refrained from saying anything that the average american isn't even close to agreeing with.

I can't defend her. If you're in a place that requires an ID, you wear it and you don't mess with cops, period.

I have a friend that works for Capitol Police. He said she hit the officer with her cellphone in her hand, not just a slap. Secondly, he said this sort of behavior is par for the course with her, and this isn't even the first time she's been stopped for the exact same thing. He also mentioned that she has had numerous run-ins with the Secret Service as well.

She's a piece of shit who thinks the world and everyone in it owes her something. I hope she goes to jail and gets a fucking staph infection.

i dont know who is telling the truth here, but this is the thing that pisses me off from that article:

"Also, two Republican members introduced a resolution Tuesday commending the Capitol Police for their "continued courage and professionalism."

this type of thing seems to always happen and it is just plain retarded.

i think the jury is still out on dean. sure republicans hate him, but they're going to hate any dem party chair. he's not as wild-eyed a lefty as people make him out to be--his record as governor of vermont was surprisingly moderate.
he doesn't appear to really be turning off independents (all the polls i've seen lately show dems crushing republicans among independents). he does have an unfortunate tendency to say stupid things, but a lot of them happen to be true (i.e. the republican party is primarily white, the war in iraq is a mistake) or prophetic (that whole flap during the primary about the dems needing to appeal to rural southern voters "with confederate flags on their pickup trucks"--everybody was talking about doing just that after 2004). a lot of local people have given him positive reviews for investing in state parties where dems don't traditionally win. it just remains to be seen whether the strategy will translate into results. if it doesn't, i'm with you--off with his head.
i'm in complete agreement about the dem congressional leadership though, especially pelosi--if the dems take back the house they better hold new leadership elections quick if they want to keep it. she's a breathtakingly unappealing botox nightmare.

That's the problem, that they're keeping quiet (not about thisnonsense, but about pretty much everything else) when all they have to do is say three words to let everyone know they're not the spineless worms they're appearing to be. Dean's a jackass, everyone knows that. Why the fuck are he and cChuck Schumer talking Hackett out of running for congress? What sort of "no, we need to lose this round" mentality is that? Fuck 'em. Same with Harry Reid. He does NOTHING. That's why his state is where the rest of the country is dumping their toxic waste. Why the fuck wouldn't they support Feingold with his resolution? I'm so sick of those retards playing up to their constituency all the time but never backing it up with shit. Fuck that. You think there was really 2 other Dems that agreed with Murtha? I don't. and to start me on Hillary is a whole other issue. And seriously, how different from the GOP are they? If jesustown wasn't in power right now they wouldn't be very much at all. This has become the Alfrew E. Neuman party and I'm so fucking disgusted that there isn't another viable option that I'm probably just gona give up voting in anything but township and county elections.

and you know what? I think I still like Gore enough that he's one of 5 in the party I can see myself actually giving a shit enough to support anymore.

The new and improved Gore (with beard!) should run for president again and choose Sherrod Brown as his running mate. That would be awesome.

dude, if that bitch had been a white man,the story would be how "Capital Hill actually has TOO MUCH SECURITY"

And instead of whining about her sorry ass haircut, this should be her message.

Because its true and everyone knows it

This crap has been front page news down here all week.

She hit a bunch of radio and talk shows yesterday and this was her tag line, most likely given to her by some PR people:

"This is much ado about a hair do."

She is fucking crazy. GA dems are taking a step back from her over this shit and are annoyed as hell at all the bad press. Thing is, if she had apologized and hadn't got all uppity about the whole thing it probably would've just gone away.

Bottom line is she didn't have her pin on and the guy was right in his actions.

I think she realized she might be in some serious shit now, but my guess is it is a little too late.

BTW, Her hair style reminds me of long time Nebraskan State Senator Ernie Chambers from North Omaha.
