Cubs-Sox trash talk used to be more entertaining before I could just say

"oh yeah? well, we just won the world series"

response: "..."

Wow. Atlanta has lost as many World Series as the NL has won since 1991.

If the whole curse-busting thing holds true for the 3rd year in a row, the Cubs are next in line for a championship:
2004: Red Sox break the Curse Of the Bambino (192something)
2005: White Sox break the curse of the Black Sox (1919)
2006: Cubs break the Billy Goat Curse (1909)?

Is there another one between 1919 and 1909?

Of course, all rules go out the window when applied to the Cubs.
Still, gotta keep hope alive.

The Billy Goat curse date is actually October of 45 during the series with (if memory serves) the Athletics.

has anyone used stubhub.com for tickets? my roommate was telling me that a friend of his got tickets to yesterday's cubs game for $20. i'm not sure where he sat, but i think that just getting into the park for $20 isn't a bad deal.

It's the next day FedEx airbill that gets you. Often, it's as much as the ticket.

Wurd. I also found myself replacing hatred towards the cubs and their fans, with pity.

Batting practice today, huh?

Also, is Derrek Lee = Paul Konerko? Apparently so.

Finding out that Chari and PopTodd are Cubs, while Ayah and MEGA are White Sox fans, made sense. But how Robotboy ended up a Cubs supporter, with Spade Kitty a White Sox booster, makes no sense; never has, prolly never will. Wha'ppened?

Why would my fandom not make any sense?

He's saying you're more yuppie than white trash. At least that's how I took it, Gekko. (haha)

I think people's misconceptions of White Sox fans based on a couple of fairly well publicized events are downright hilarious.

And since we won the World Series, everyone feels they have to apply said misconceptions as "well-known facts about White Sox fans." I can think of several analogies to this to illustrate the absurdity of this statement, but I'm sure that you can come up with better ones yourselves.

Look America, you don't know us. You never knew us. You never will know us. STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU KNOW US. You don't care about us. We don't care about you either. Go back to ignoring us. We'll be just fine.
