This is it.

I wonder how old you are? Over 40?

Apart from emusic I rarely download, especially while at uni. My college's internet connection is through the uni server, which is clearly set up to discourage this kind of thing because once you reach a certain daily download threshold (which is free), really high charges start kicking in.

ie., just by checking email, reading a couple of music zines, and spending some time on obner I go use up all of my free downloads and start getting charged.

From what I do download, I'm very likely to buy it because I like knowing I have the music in physical form, even though I leave all my cds at home during semester.

Even from emusic, I usually only download stuff I'm not as excited about/don't know as much about/is hard to get in Australia

Option 7 (are we up to 7 now?) - I download an album, keep the one or two good tracks for my mixes, and delete the rest.

I've d/l a lot in general, but in the past 5 years i've taken 2 separate one-year hiatuses from the "hobby" because of moving/lack of www.

I buy stuff from my most favorite artists.
I buy A LOT of used cds (a discussion for another time).
I buy merch at shows about 95% of the time.
A combo of 1 & 3 usually correllate to this, but I also tend to buy a good number of 7" singles, which are hard to find on the www, and a 7" is way better than an mp3.................unless i'm making a mix (so see option 7 above)

I have a lot more money than I did in college, but I don't buy nearly as much albums as I used to. I download a lot now, but I still buy a decent amount.
