I found this amusing.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?sec ... id=2411973

Quote:
Buehrle thoroughly enjoys putting on a show for fans during rain delays and the White Sox don't want to their personable left-hander to change his personality. They don't want him blowing out a knee, either.

"He needs to find another hobby," Williams had said on Sunday.

"He's afraid I'm going to get hurt. He said there's no fine, but if I do it again there will be a fine," Buehrle said Monday.

"It's only once in a blue moon you get to do that anyway, so it's not like it's an every day thing they're taking away for us. ...I'd do it if there was no one in here. It's more fun for me. I like to go out there and do it. I did it when I was a little kid in my backyard during the summertime."

Yeah, allow your multimillion doallar ace piece of property to slice a tendon or something, it shouldnt be a big deal.

If I owned/GM'ed a team, it would be a nightmare to even let those guys go home at night, for fear they would do something stupid to themselves. Here's a chance on national TV, you gotta put a stop to it/

There is far too much coddling of players. Far too much babying. Far too much "our boy needs the day off."

And yet the pampered shits get injured anyway.

Buerhle at least knows how to have fun and fans like it.

David "I Ate Orson" Wells type players are knee-busters because they are pigs who need to lose weight. Others are knee-busters because they've used steroids for years.

But if a regular guy wants to frickin' slide on a tarp to make his fans smile, let him.

Yeah, I don't see the harm in it either. This Williams guy is not very likable. I'm curious, do the Sox fans like him?

White Sox won the world series last year and Williams put the team together and hired Guillen to manage. I'm sure the fans must hate him.

I undestand William's point and I'd probably react the same way in his shoes. But from a fan perspective, Buerhle rocked.

That's what we all look for in our team's gm is a good personality so that if we ever have him over for tea and crumpets it'll be sure to be a jolly good time.

You're just pissed that Thome is off to a great start for the Sox. Don't take it out on me.

Actually, I wish Thome nothing but the best. He's a class act. I also am very happy with the trade. Rowand is doing fine and we also two pitching prospects in the trade, Gio Gonzalez and Haigwood. these two guys are supposed to be really good, especially Gio. So the trade worked out well for both teams.

On a related note, those dirty hippies, A.J Pierzynski and Joe Crede were ordered to trim those mops.

Kenny tells it like it is... love him as a GM and I love him as a person. Extremely well-spoken and learned his job on the fly... so well, he's easily one of the top 3 GMs in baseball. You always know where you stand... you start bitching and you're shown the door.

I think Burls needs to tone it down. Remember, he is an employee of the White Sox 24/7/365. He gets hurt doing that... it costs the Sox money.

Gio has the upside to be an all-star... he's just as frail as can be. Haigwood came out of nowhere over the winter. I would assume he'll be no better than a #4 or #5 guy at his best.

Crash... I miss him too. Loved the trade at the time though. We've always needed a LH power bat for that park and Thome destroys AL pitching. Rowand does have the tendency to break the wrong way on balls and take bad lines. But, he'll run through a wall for ya.

I was about to say, Rowand isn't as good defensively as we've been told. I don't want to kill him but he's done some strange things out there, like overrun fly balls, kick balls around, mishandle balls. Normally, I wouldn't mind all this ball activity but I'd like him to be a bit more stable.
