The only song I know by them is "I'm An Adult Now". That wasn't enough to make me want to delve further. It reminded me too much of George Thorogood.

George Thorogood? Wow, I wouldn't have made that comparison at all. You should check out their album Love Junk which is excellent, I recommend downloading 'Hard to Laugh' or 'She's So Young'.

Thanks for the Hawksley.

I think it's because I have a distant memory of 'I'm An Adult Now' and 'Bad To The Bone' both being featured on some show. I want to say The Chipmunks, but I can't imagine TPoH being played on there now. So I don't know.

The only similarity between the two are the sing-speak vocals on 'I'm an Adult Now' which approximates George Thorogood's delivery on a song like 'Bad to the Bone'. I actually can't imagine that song being played on any cartoon, not that it's explicitly dirty or anything, but he is singing about booze, drugs and women.

Anyway, check out those two other songs I mentioned. I think you would enjoy it a lot, based on your love of Shakespeare My Butt.

To Whom It May Concern,

Please be advised that Mr. Dumpjack has drastically misrepresented the band known as The Pursuit Of Happiness (herewith referred to as TPOH). Given that Mr. Dumpjack has previously shown himself to be a fine individual, I feel that in this case we must offer the benefit of the doubt. In other words, it's quite probable that Mr. Dumpjack is the victim of a simple typo. Surely the word "excellent", used in his post as an adjectival modifier of TPOH, was a faulty keyboard's misspelling of "colossally shitty and without any merit whatsoever." These very sort of technological gaffes have been the undoing of many a good man's life work. It is most fortunate for us all - and Mr. Dumpjack in particular - that we discovered it in time.

Yours,

The Management

You kill me, Rads, but Love Junk has got its moments, at least for me. I don't speak for the other ones. Anyway, this shouldn't be too surprising given my love of Martha and the Muffins and other dumb Canadian pop.

If it means I must be a dubious character, then so be it. I'm gonna go play TPOH and then some Mott. Your mix.

Awesome, I fit almost none of those requirements. Though I did play ball hockey occasionally as a kid and everyone celebrates May 24th.

I don't fit any of those either.

I dunno, Rads. It's been YEARS since I've heard them, but I remember I really used to like them back in uni. I particularly liked "Walking in the Woods," if I remember the song title correctly.

np: PTL - "To Protect the Family Name"
