TOOL'S long awaited follow up to 2001’s “Lateralus” is well on its way to being released, with the band announcing the album’s official track listing on their website ending months of rumours and speculation.
Titled “10 000 Days,” Tool’s sixth album will hit stores on May 2 this year and has already been subject to much discussion on the meanings of its songs...judged from the titles alone. “Wings For Marie” is thought to be a tribute to singer Maynard’s mother who passed away whilst “Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann)” has had many guessing as to who exactly Hofmann is. First single “Vicarious” will arrive on US radio on April 17 and exceeds 7 minutes in length, meaning fans can probably expect nothing too out-of-the-ordinary for the band.
Those who know Tool however may be aware by now that the band often releases false track listings and misinformation regarding their albums, so any official statements are not set in cement.
Tool will perform their first show in 4 years in the States at California’s Coachella Festival in April.
“10 000” Days Track Listing: Vicarious / Jambi / Wings for Marie (Pt. 1) / 10,000 Days (Pt. 2) / The Pot / Lipan Conjuring / Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann) / Rosetta Stoned / Intension / Right in Two / Viginti Tres.
Check it. It hasn't stuck yet for me but I think it'll be a grower after repeated listens.
