taken from Kevin Smith's online journal, this is a long, really long 9 part account of Jay Mewes rise, descent into drugs, and eventual return to sobriety....I loved it. good read.

http://silentbobspeaks.com/?m=20060328 PART 1
http://silentbobspeaks.com/?m=20060329 PART 2
http://silentbobspeaks.com/?m=20060330 PART 3

and from there, you can link on the side to parts 4 thru 9.

enjoy.

You know, a lot of people I really enjoy are into Smith's Bob and Jay thing, but it doesn't connect with me. As much as I respect Smith from a distance, I find it odd that he keeps returning to this well.

I just saw Kevin Smith speak at my school a few weeks ago. By speak I mean that he answers questions from people until everybody's question has been answered. And I mean everybody. If the school hadn't stopped it he would have kept going. As it was it lasted 3 and a half hours.

It also helped that he was hysterical. Won't try to retell the jokes for fear of botching them up.

Was it being filmed?

I have the An Evening With Kevin Smith dvd and it's pretty great. His Prince story, especially. But there's supposed to be a sequel in the works.

I don't think it was filmed...it may have been tape recorded though. But it was just about as good, if not as good as the dvd. Best $6 I ever spent.

The second Kevin Smith speaks DVD is coming out in conjunction with the release of Clerks 2 in August.

Filmed or not, he does these Q&A sessions at college alot, and he always gives everyone there moneys worth. Many going 3,4 and sometimes even 5 hours long...

I saw him in NYC a few years back...After three hours, the auditorium had ot be used for something else, but he arranged with an administrator to have a smaller room set up that could fit part of the crowd, and my buddy and I went to that too, and he spoke for another two hours. No microphone. Basically he sat on a chair, and we all sat around him.....Kinda cool. kinda sad. LOL. but a great time.

this is good reading. This will consume my third to last day of work here. Thanks.

I hope Phil sees this. It should get him at least close to 6:15.

as early as the 2nd paragraph:

On a mid-December early morn, circa 2003, on the balcony of my house in the Hollywood Hills, Jason Mewes, my friend of seventeen years and co-star in five films at that point, dropped a bomb that shoud’ve repulsed the shit out of me, or at the very least, made me vomit a little in my mouth.

“Last night, at the Spider Club, Nicole Richie dragged me into the bathroom and fucked me.”

you're all welcome...

it was even harder, cause he would post one and sometimes we'd have to wait two or three days before the next posting was put up...he leaves great cliff hangers.
