this year has definitely been a slower year for my purchases as well, but there have been some fine releases.

that super numeri sounds pretty cool. the name sounds familiar but i've never heard anything of theirs. 20 minute opening track is right up my alley though.

Significantly fewer purchases compared to last year, and not sure why. May have something to do with my favorite local music store changing owners and turning into a shit-box. I've bought:

DBT's- a couple of excellent moments, the rest of it is good.
Neko Case- Good, but not great.
Two Gallants- Good, but by the 2nd song of Side 3, I get the gnawing suspicion that I'm hearing the same song over and over.
Willie Nile- the only genuine knock-out so far.

I've bought about 30 albums from 2006.

I've not heard anything yet that I'd put in the 'great' catagory and I've not heard much which was really bad, most of it seems to be fairly middling this year.

Neko Case is still top of my list right now.
