I always thought of these arena football players as people similar to musicians who work full-time during the week and then travel to play a sketchy gig where the bar owner might screw you out of money.
I wouldn't be playing in this league, even if it was my last chance to play a form of pro football.
In our case, the team could not afford enough equipment for the whole team. During their first road game, the QB's helmet cracked during the first drive and they had no replacement helmet for him to wear, so they had no QB. They ended up losing 102-6.
Then a snow storm kept them in South Dakota for a week, at which time the coach quit. The arena I worked for cancelled one of their games and they moved their turf to St. Joe, MO. Supposedly they might come back, but we don't want them.
