 Post subject: computer question

i updated some software for my mac and most of the text in my e-mails and some on line test is showing up in fractions. this happened once before and i can't remember what i did to fix it.

anybody?
it's ticking me off.

You will know it is really a problem when you write 'text' and out somes 'test'. It took me forever to get what you meant. And no, that doesnt sound good.

try changing the fonts.

at one point i had a fantom fake helvetica on my computer with jumbled letters, once i got rid of that font my problem was gone.

holy crap. sorry 'bout that.

i've tried changing the font and that didn't work but i'll bet ti's tht bastard helvetica. fonts are such a pain.
in order to read my e-mail i have to hit reply and then manually chnage it in that document. it won't change universally.

pain.

in my mail program i went and changed everything from lucida grande to verdana and the text in the old e-mails hasn't changed. maybe it will when i get a new e-mail?

i quit the program and restarted it but didn't restart the computer.

send yourself an e-mail to find out. but if it's happening online too, my guess is that a font has become corrupted-ed.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

i actually went to the mac help section and found this to be a common problem.
i had to turn off the helvetica fraction font then reboot.
how it ever got turned on in the first place is beyond me.
