Hey all -
My favorite band of all time - The Bluerunners - are just releasing their new record on "Bayou Vista Records" (distributed by Red Eye) called "Honey Slides". I got my copy this week and love it.
It might be a little too "world" or "Louisiana" for some of you, but, I know that there have been a few who mentioned you are fans in all of the "listmania" hub-bub on the cmj board.
They take a lot of Zydeco and traditional Cajun music, mix it with a bit of rock and add a dash of New Orleans' Meters' style funk to round it out. The lyrics split pretty evenly between Cajun French and English. Overall, it is right up my alley. . .
I think they are going to try to tour on the record around SXSW. Maybe a little "different", but, go see them and shake your ass for once - I think you'll thank me!
