I think that Lovers is criminally under-rated.

Song of the year, so far.

Pure, pop brilliance.

I can't stop playing this. Can't wait for the album.

I'm liking this. Not as immediately catchy as, say, This Day, but still really good.

4 weeks to go!

Seriously, if they do play there that will seal what is pretty much the greatest line up ever (well, except Wolfmother). Actually, a lot of the local festivals have had fantastic lineups this year.

And anyway, you know you'll be able to see the Sleepies in Brisbane and get a full 2 hours of Luke/Luoke weirdness

Yeah...i'll be 18 by then too. St Jerome's Laneway festival was the shit this year, and what's more, its coming to brizzy next year. I know a shady dude who knows someone involved with organising Splendour, and he insists Broken Social Scene aren't out of the question, even though they just finished touring here. If so, then damn.

With Wolfmother and Grinspoon though, I dare say there will be a number of annoying Bundy & Cola-swilling collar-up guys who wouldn't have even heard of the rest of the bands there.

oh, and Shiv:

St Jeromes was good, though the sound at the 'main' stage was a bit shit if you weren't up close because it was jammed in a laneway (funnily enough) between a hotel and an office building with that marble-type finish, so the sound just reverberated off it.

I saw a few of the bands play good sets there, but tried to turn up a little late to the Drones and was nowhere near the stage so it sounded like a big guitar mess. Upshot though was that we ditched it in favour of the Gossip next door in the Basement (a jazz/blues club) and witnessed one of the best shows I have seen, even though it was only 3pm

Lovers is on clearance for $1.99 + s/h at BMG, so I might look into getting it.

Cool. They also have Walkmen - Everyone Who Pretended..., Nas - Illmatic 10th Anniversary Edition and Simian - We Are All Friends (all for $1.99 + s/h) which I think I will also get.
